KT Tunstall live at Delamere Forest

All too quickly the final night of the Forest Tour 2008's visit to Delamere Forest had arrived.  Glum thoughts were quickly banished though thanks to the gorgeous lazy summer evening sunshine.

There were no local heroes for the final night but they weren't needed.  Tom Baxter and his band opened the evening with a set that I'm sure sent many people scurrying to the record shops the next day looking for his latest album (Skybound).

I have to admit I was one of the doubters when Drastic Fantastic was released, it's not that I don't like it, it's a decent enough album but it just didn't seem to have the impact and end-to-end goodness that Eye To The Telescope had.  Those doubts evaporated when KT took to the stage and delivered one of her best shows yet.  She has the uncanny knack of making the performance seem effortless and the links feel as if you're just sat chatting over a pint.

The combination of warm sunshine, great music and a friendly crowd made sure that everyone went home with a smile on their face.

As always, there are more photographs from the show here
