After the fun of The Zutons the night before, I had high hopes for another local band made good, Elbow. In keeping with the local band theme, Guy Garvey had his "favourite band in all the world" - I Am Kloot - open the show and they didn't let him down. Although there was a hint of "Little and Large" when he joined them on stage.

There's something wonderfully understated about Elbow, they're not headline grabbers, you're unlikely to read about their latest mishaps in any of the redtops or other gossip mags, but when they take the stage you know about it. From the moment Guy Garvey's towering frame steps into the spotlight to the last fading notes of their anthemic songs, Elbow demand your attention. And if you're thinking about heading off early to catch a train because you've got a busy weekend and the kids are going to wake you up at 6am then you do so at your own risk - I tried it and missed out on a guest appearance from Richard Hawley, doh!
